SOPAN is a voluntary agency. Its activities are run with support from philanthropic organizations, corporate bodies and private donors.

Donations to SOPAN have come from the Give Foundation of the ICICI Bank, Tata Honeywell, the Dorabji Tata Trust, the M.K. Tata Trust, Bank of America, Marico Industries, Hindustan Petroleum Ltd, Bharat Forge Ltd., United States Educational Foundation In India (USEFI) and several other social groups and individual well wishers.
